Bluetooth Pairing – Mercedes-Benz – From Mbusa-mobile.com

Mercedes-Benz pairing with Bluetooth offers upgraded executive level connectivity for mobile clients. Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH grants an extension of communication accessories that also offers a MB Bluetooth Hands Free Profile (HFP) ‘telephone module’. This allows the MB owner to use their BlackBerry® without manually connecting to the vehicle. The MB Blackberry owner has the ability to access vehicle telecommunication and this pairing will also work for a number of other mobile phones with Bluetooth Hands Free Profile. MB’s use of the new telephone module will work with HFP software and currently works with almost all Mercedes models.

In layman’s terms this technology allows: The owner to make phone calls, send and receive e-mail, and access presentations (documents). The great part is the safety factor in that the owner does not have to manually connect the Blackberry. The mobile phone or hand held phone connects automatically. However, the process is initially activated by pressing a button wherein the BlackBerry or mobile phone interfaces with the vehicle.

For mobile phones that do not have Bluetooth capability the MB owner can still connect to the HFP by using a mobile-phone holder. Mercedes-Benz makes the holder to fit each model MB both visually and technically. The phone can then be accessed by the function button on the steering wheel and the owner can also check the status of the phone on the display. There is a bit of work to be done before a holder can be used which means an installation of ‘optional extra-pre-installation with interface (Code 386) or with optional extra Mercedes-Benz mobile phone (Code 388).

For more information on Bluetooth connectivity, MB offers a ‘FAQs’ page (http://www.mercedes-benz-mobile.com/us/en/w212/faq.php) with answers to questions like:

1) Which mobile phones can I use in my new E-Class? (or your model MB)
2) How do I connect my mobile phone via Bluetooth?
3) Is it possible to transfer phone numbers from my mobile phone to the phone system?

Owners of Mercedes-Benz have come to rely on the fact that the brand strives to keep clients ‘connected and mobile’ with the most up-to-date technology available.

Are there any phones other than a Smart Phone (Blackberry, etc.) that are compatible with the Bluetooth system of my new E Class 350?
