JD Power has delivered their findings in an initial quality report that shows the rankings of all manufacturers starting with the ones who have the fewest reported issues, and Mercedes-Benz is at the top of that list.
Initial quality is a benchmark that measures the number of issues reported by owners in the first 90 days of ownership. A major data point that manufacturers are very careful to watch because it is a very simple way to gauge overall satisfaction with the vehicle and whether issues unbeknownst to the buyer may reveal themselves in the early stages of ownership.

Collectively, the domestic manufacturers have surpassed the import manufacturers in terms of initial quality. This marks a significant milestone in the overall accomplishments in domestic car makers overcoming a reputation for being less reliable than their import competitors.
